the GLORY OF THE 80's
Terribly shy, music was my world. Spent all my teen years going to concerts, and trying to meet the musicians that touched my life. Backstage or in the streets, sometimes at their hotel. We were sneaky as hell and very persistent~! Since I was so shy, I barely spoke to the people once backstage, just to be near them was enough for me.
One exception was Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode...he was so kind and easy to talk to, he came right over to me and sat beside me on the table for the duration of the meet & greet, even doing a radio interview next to me...oh to have that on tape!
(warning: terribe 80's hair abounds!)
Depeche Mode 1985
Duran Duran 1988-90?
other bands:
Adam Ant
Echo & the Bunnymen
The Church
Love & Rockets
Gene Loves Jezebel
Flesh For Lulu
Marc Almond
*later*
Tori Amos
Now, not so shy or starstruck...music is still a huge part of my life. I am lucky enough to have friends in bands that I love, and the confidence to know that we are all equal. Still, it is fun to connect with these talented people..famous or not.
*recent run ins*
Dandy Warhols (gave Zia and Brent ride to hotel from gig)
Nick from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (sat
and talked restaurants, where to eat in Boston at late hours!)
