Jennifer
Parrish creates under the label Parrish Relics, using everything from
semi-precious stones, stained glass and beads, to mirror and patina metals.
Her influences come from the Renaissance, the Byzantine Empire and Gothic
architecture. Each necklace is handmade, giving it a slightly imperfect look that only adds to it's appeal. Now she is experimenting with adding scent to the pieces, filling tiny glass vials with fragrant potpourri and topping interesting pendants with solid amber or frankinscense. "Perfume wears off too quickly" says Parrish, "It's wonderful to smell something around your neck all day." Now that's an idea she needs to market. - Anita J. Finklestein |
